Each year over 22,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and 15,000 will die. This insidious disease is called the “Whisper Killer” because the symptoms are so subtle that the disease usually goes undetected until it is often too late for successful treatment. Jacquelin T. Liggett – Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper (H.O.W.) Founder was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer in August 2000 and died in August 2007. Jacquie was an optimist, a spiritual person and a real fighter. Through Jacquie’s efforts, H.O.W. was established in 2002 as a supporting organization of Palm Healthcare Foundation. Jacquie was determined to turn her story into a crusade to better educate women about the symptoms of ovarian cancer and the tools available for diagnosis. Because of Jacquie, women in Palm Beach County are becoming more informed about this disease and listening for the whisper.

WOW! What a amazing night! This year was by far the best year working with Little Smiles. Little Smile is a non-profit organization that helps create smiles on children’s faces in hospitals, hospices and shelters throughout Florida. The Stars Ball is black tie (optional) gala that is modeled after the Oscars. The only difference is that the actors are replaced with children who are much more important. These children in our region are battling cancer and other life altering conditions. For one night, the children are able to escape the reality of their conditions into a world of fantasy…. One where they are the STARS and where they are special and they are not sick or different from everyone else. The girls get beautiful gowns, their hair and makeup done and the boys are fitted with tuxedos. Then they are whisked away in a stretch limo and brought to The Harriet Himmel Theater to walk the red carpet. All of the guest line the red carpet to get photos and autographs of our Little Stars. This night is one of magic. It makes the children feel special and it gives them and their family a time that they will always remember. Free Minds Studio helped out with the Same Day Edit. More videos to come from this amazing event!
